Here are the initatives that have taken place in KTCS since Wellbeing was introduced in our school.

2018

  • Wellbeing day:1st years

-Hope D and Kildare sports Partnerships provided workshops

-Teacher led workshops including ‘Claytastic’, it is your move, eat yourself healthy, meditation

  • KTCS Operation Transformation

-gym opened after school

-walking challenge

-Indoor soccer

-Fruity Friday and water Wednesday

  • Broad range of extra-curricular activities
  • Pedal for Hope
  • Amber flag was received
  • Student wellbeing team established
  • Sports day
  • CPR4 schools program-delivered to TY students
  • Wellbeing board in school
  • Poster competitions
  • Frame of Mind short film competition-Runner up prize
  • Simon James visited on a Mental Health, Online Safety & Cyber Bullying themed school tour.
  • Ways to wellbeing course completed by a teacher
  • Prayer service/meditation : 6th year
  • Samaritans addressed all 6th years.
  • Motivational and Inspirational talk by Marc Mulligan for 6th years.
  • Survey by Wellbeing team on how to improve our school.
  • Green flags distributed for mental health month
  • Survey amongst staff re staff wellbeing

2017

  • Tasty Thursday and Tuesday with 1st Year Home Economics
  • School fitness challenge as part of PE programme
  • CPR/First Aid workshop has been organised and ran with the TY's
  • Sports days
  • Wide range of extra-curricular events ran
  • Pedal for Hope

2016

  • Updated canteen menu
  • Removal of vending machines
  • Nutrition talk for parents
  • Chef visit
  • Walking challenges
  • Sports days
  • Participation in secondary school’s operation transformation dance challenge.
  • Ran various fitness initiatives e.g circuits, badminton for fun
