There was a wonderful celebratory atmosphere in the marquee in KTCS on Monday 7th September when the LC class of 2020 were invited back in small groups for a supportive afternoon with the support team at KTCS. The Principal, John Hayes, Deputies Mary Hackett, Jenny O Halloran and Fiona Behan, Guidance Counsellor Elizabeth Urell, Year Head, and Chaplain were in attendance to meet with and support the students on the day they received their LC results.
A total of 40 students arrived over the 3 hour event. They celebrated and spoke through their own individual situations over tea and coffee and chocolates. KWETB and RACE were on hand to give information about further training and apprenticeships open to students in Kildare. Students found the event to be informative and supportive. Many students had well in excess of the points they needed for courses in Maynooth University, University of Limerick, It Carlow UCD and TCD.
Teachers who attended were delighted to meet with their past pupils who they had not seen since the hugely successful graduation in Kildare Village in mid June. Students were hugely appreciative of the support from their school over the past few months. Together but apart was certainly in evidence at the school and this will continue for the students as they embark on the next phase of their journey.
