Second Year Student Designs New School Crest

Jade Coffey, a second year student currently attending Presentation Secondary School in Kildare, is the winner of the competition to design a new school crest for Kildare Town Community School. The competition was open to students attending the three amalgamating schools: Kildare Vocational School, Presentation Secondary School and St. Joseph’s Academy, De la Salle. The design brief stipulated that the new crest should incorporate the spirit of the three amalgamating schools or the local history and traditions of the Kildare community. The competition was adjudicated by Ms. Lucina Russell, Art Officer, Kildare County Council, who commended the high standard of the entries and complimented all students who entered. Jade’s design includes the motto for the new school, “Illuminate Love Serve” and the Irish version of the school name “Pobalscoil Bhaile Chill Dara”.
