On Thursday, 19th of May, our school’s green schools group went on a trip to Glendalough. As we are aiming to get our next flag which is associated with water, green-school meetings have been held by Ms. Murphy and Mr. Conboy in Ms. Murphy’s Science Lab every Thursday at 11.00am - 11.15am over the past school year and will probably continue on this day on time for the school year next year 2016/17. Green schools is a great way to learn about earth and a lot more about the environment and also to meet new people and make new friends. We already have a lot of members but all new members are welcome. Photos on the Gallery Page.

1916 State Ceremony
On Monday, 7th March 2016 our school was represented by Ms. Ryan, Ms. Thompson, Aisling Scully, Jamie Sheehan and Aoife Casey at the State Flag Ceremony in Croke Park. 6000 students and teachers representing each secondary school in Ireland were in attendance. The ceremony was presented by Ryan Tubridy and President Michael D Higgins gave a keynote address. The ceremony went through the history of the Irish flag, and the man credited with the introduction of it – Thomas Francis Meagher. The event marked the end of the Flags for Schools initiative, which began in September 2015. The flag received by our school will be raised at an official ceremony in KTCS on Proclamation Day 15th March 2016.
