Christmas Letter from School Management

CHRISTMAS LETTER TO KTCS PARENTS

10/12/2018

Dear Parent/Guardian,

With Christmas holidays imminent we here at KTCS would like to update you on events over the next two weeks.

We will hold one of our Merit Events in the last week of term to reward those with good behaviour and excellent attendance.

The KTCS Bake-Off with both teachers and students participating will be held over two days, both for Juniors and Seniors.

This Friday, December 14th the KTCS choir will perform in aid of Pieta House in St. Bridget’s Church at 7pm. We would encourage all to support this charitable venture.

The Parents’ Association has distributed tickets to all students for their Christmas Raffle, and have also requested non-perishable goods for St. Vincent de Paul hampers.

Despite the fact that the festive season is upon us the staff and management of KTCS want to continue to maintain expectations for all our students. We would ask you, the parents/guardians, to support us in this endeavour.

It is imperative that students are attending full-time as coursework/projects/portfolios continue right up to December 21st.

Early exams for 3rd and 6th years have allowed them to settle back to schoolwork/study for a full 7 weeks. 3rd years will have their CAT4 tests next week which will be invaluable for their future prospects and determining the most suitable path for them after Junior Certificate.

Teachers of 1st, 2nd and 5th years will continue with coursework and so these students must continue to apply themselves and be in attendance every day up to the Christmas holidays.

Issues that are arising on a daily basis are those of uniform, shoes, facial piercings and mobile phone use. Our Code of Behaviour is very clear on all of these and we would ask that you familiarise yourself with the sanctions. School shoes must be plain black only and shoes/trainers with any colour other than black may not be worn. Please have an appropriate alternative should there be an issue with any item of the school uniform.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best wishes,

John Hayes (Acting Principal) Mary Hackett (Deputy-Principal)
